ClawAgent smart AI gateway
2026-06-02
AI that doesn't just answer questions — it actually gets work done.

xClaw — a lightweight agent that helps you get work done
AI shouldn't only chat — it should actually finish work for you. xClaw lets agents think, call tools, browse the web, operate terminals, connect to hardware, and keep working across channels — all on your machines, your data, and your infrastructure.
- 20+ LLM providers: Anthropic, OpenAI, Ollama, and OpenAI-compatible endpoints.
- 30+ channels: Discord, Telegram, Matrix, email, voice, Webhook, CLI, and more — all into one agent loop.
- Rich toolchain: Shell, browser, HTTP, hardware peripherals, and custom MCP servers — ready out of the box.
Use cases
Personal AI assistant
Run a dedicated agent on your own devices for chat, research, and work assistance — data and keys never leave your machine.
Unified multi-channel access
Messages from Discord, Telegram, email, Webhook, CLI, and more feed into one agent — configure once, respond everywhere.
Enterprise digital workers
Connect business APIs and knowledge bases to build auditable, controllable smart support and automated workflows.
MCP / tool orchestration
Shell, browser, HTTP, hardware, and MCP servers work together so agents can safely call local and remote capabilities.
Multi-model with failover
Pluggable model providers with fallback chains and routing — if one endpoint is down, the agent keeps running.
Private and edge deployment
Deploy a single binary on Linux, macOS, Windows, or containers; also connect Raspberry Pi and other hardware peripherals.
Why xClaw
Security first
Supervised autonomy by default: medium-risk actions need approval, high-risk ones are blocked; workspace boundaries, command policies, and OS-level sandboxes (Landlock / Bubblewrap / Seatbelt / Docker) protect every layer.
Fully auditable
Every tool call carries encrypted tool receipts — operations are logged and verifiable for compliance and troubleshooting.
Single binary, minimal deploy
One install command or build from source; zeroclaw quickstart walks you through setup, or register as a systemd / launchd service.
Gateway and console
HTTP / WebSocket gateway plus a web console: chat, memory browsing, config editing, Cron management, and tool checks — ops in one place.
Gateway, SOP, and IDE in one
Channels, Gateway, and ACP (Agent Client Protocol) all plug into the xClaw runtime: the agent loop, security policies, and SOP engine work together to dispatch model providers, tools, and SQLite memory storage. Supports MQTT / Webhook / Cron and other event-triggered standard operating procedures (SOP) with approval gates and resumable execution; connects to IDEs and editors via ACP using JSON-RPC 2.0 over stdio.

Runs everywhere
A single Rust binary with a small memory footprint — integrate on bare metal, in containers, or into existing CI/CD pipelines. Connect to cloud APIs and self-hosted inference such as local Ollama; Raspberry Pi, STM32, Arduino, ESP32, and more can be extended via the Peripheral trait.
- Software platforms: Linux, macOS, Windows, FreeBSD, Docker, NixOS
- Hardware architectures: x86, ARM, RISC-V, Raspberry Pi, STM32, ESP32
Quick start
Ready to run your own agent?
From quickstart to a long-running service, you can launch xClaw on your own machine in minutes. You own the agent, you own the data, you own the machine that runs it.
